What We Work On Together

Mentoring is for the moments when decisions are heavy and mistakes are expensive. These are the typical situations we work on:

  • Tension with the board and investors – how to present a difficult situation, manage expectations and keep their trust. What investors really test in a meeting
  • Raising capital – when, from whom and how, and what to watch out for in the terms.
  • Crises, cutbacks and layoffs – how to make a painful decision and carry it out with respect. Crises are part of growth
  • Changing direction (pivot) – how to tell whether the time has come, and how to lead the company through it.
  • Building a leadership team that works as a team – dividing responsibility, arguments that move things forward, and a united front toward investors, customers and employees. Centralized vs. empowering leadership
  • Strategic partnerships – choosing the right partner and how to approach them. How to approach a strategic partnership

How It Works

  1. Intro call – understanding the challenges facing the founder or the leadership team.
  2. One-on-one meetings – getting to know each member of the leadership team separately.
  3. A work plan – based on those meetings, we define together what we work on and in what order.
  4. Individual and joint sessions – one-on-one work, and reflecting back to the leadership team as a team in joint sessions. At least 10 sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this for?

Founders and leadership teams at more mature companies: in most cases after a first raise or after a Series A or B, when there is already a leadership team that finds it hard to work as a team toward investors, customers and employees.

How is this different from Early Stage Mentoring?

Early Stage Mentoring is for the idea and founding stage: the need, the market, pricing, the MVP and preparing to raise. Executive Mentoring is for companies that have already raised and have a leadership team, when the challenge is to lead and to work as a team.

How long does mentoring take?

At least 10 sessions.

How does mentoring a leadership team work?

First I get to know each member of the team separately, and then I reflect back to you as a team in joint sessions.

How much does it cost?

The price is set in the intro call, based on the scope of mentoring and the size of the leadership team.

Is this consulting?

No. I don't manage in your place and I don't come with ready-made answers. I reflect the situation back to you, like a mirror, so you can make better decisions.

How do I get started?

With an intro call, no commitment.

The first step is a personal intro call

No commitment. No sales pitch. Just an honest look at whether and how working together makes sense.
